Questions & Answers
*What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are individual strands of synthetic fibers made to replicate a natural eyelash. When applied, eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken your own natural eyelashes. The single strands are applied to each individual eyelash, one by one. With proper application, lash extensions look and feel completely natural.
*Are lash extensions safe?
Bilal’s Lash Bar only uses professional grade adhesive which never comes in contact with your skin. Yes, eyelash extensions when applied properly will never damage or ruin your natural lashes.
*How can I make an appointment?
Please click on the "Contact" tab and the red "book here for an appointment" button for access to the calendar. You can also to text as well to have the link sent to you. Be sure to read the late and no show policy on the "booking" tab.
*Can I wear makeup to my appointment?
It is requested that you come to your appointment with NO mascara or eyeliner. There is a $10 cleaning fee to remove eye makeup, oils or lotions from your eyes. Please remove mascara and/or false lashes at least 2 days prior to your appointment so your lashes will be clean and free of debris. Lash extensions last longer the cleaner the natural lash is.
*Can I bring my child/spouse/friend to the appointment?
Children over 10 years old are welcome to accompany you to the appointment as well as a spouse or friend can accompany you. Remember that your eyes must remain closed for the duration of the treatment and your technician will be focused on you – so there can be no unsupervised children in the room during your appointment.
*Is there foods/drinks I should avoid before my visit?
Yes. Please avoid caffeinated drinks 3-4 hours before your appointment. Caffeine can cause your eyes to twitch and makes it difficult to apply the extension effectively.
*How early should I arrive for my appointment?
For your first appointment, please arrive 5-10 minutes early to complete the client evaluation form.

*How long does it take to get my lashes installed?
For a first time full classic set normally between 1 1/2-2 hours; and a first time full hybrid and or volume set it can take anywhere between 3-4 hours.

*Can I wear contact lenses/glasses with my eyelash extensions?
Yes, of course. However you may find it more comfortable to remove contacts before your appointment, or bring your contacts case so you can remove them if necessary prior to treatment.
LASH MANAGEMENT
*How long will a set of lashes last?
Depending on your lifestyle, activity and day-to-day routines refills should only be required every 2-2 1/2 weeks.
*Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?
We do ask you to minimize the chance of wetting the extensions for the first 24-48 hours of wear. After that 24-hour period, the adhesive used to apply your eyelash extensions is secure enough to allow you to get right back to your routine. However, keeping away from extensive contact with steam such as in saunas or certain facials is recommended since it can begin to loosen the bond.
*How soon can I wash my face after the extensions are applied?
The suggested time frame is 24-48 hours.
*How do I dry my eyelash extensions?
After cleansing your eyelashes, you can let them air dry and then brush your extensions with a clean mascara wand. Or you can use a lint-free cloth to gently pat on the top of your extensions while keeping your eyes closed.
*How do I choose the look I want?
Your technician will consult with you to understand what type of style you are interested in and what look will work best with your natural lashes. The overall look of the lashes can range from very natural to very voluminous!
*What happens if I choose to have my eyelash extensions removed?
We do offer a service to have the extensions removed involving a short thirty-minute appointment in which we apply a gel remover. The gel remover is applied on top of the extensions without touching the skin and allowed to sit for 10 minutes. Once the adhesive is dissolved the extensions are gently wiped away with lint free applicators exposing the natural lashes.
*Can I wear mascara after my lashes are installed?
Use mascaras that are water-based only if you'd like but it cannot contain any oil. Please avoid any oil-based products including makeup remover, waterproof mascaras, makeup products, lotions, etc. Oil breaks down the adhesive, the label of your products must say OIL FREE.
*Can I workout after my lashes are installed?
Yes. Wear a headband when exercising, and sweating so your lashes can last longer.
*I sleep on my side. Is this okay after my lashes are installed?
We recommend to try to sleep on your back but if you cannot try sleeping with a satin sleep mask to protect your lashes while sleeping.
*Should I clean my lashes? If so, how often?
Yes, please clean your lashes after 24-48 hours of application to avoid germs. Wet your eyes with cool water. Take a very, very small amount of a lash shampoo (Eyelash Extension Foaming Cleanser or Oil Free Make-up Remover) and lather it up on your fingertips. Apply this to both eyes, one at a time, patting it over them. Don’t rub them like you’re washing hair though; just gently splash it over your closed eyes and rinse with cool water. It doesn’t matter if they are a little damp, stuck together with water etc., when you brush them they will re-separate. Do not brush while they are wet; wait for a few minutes until they are dry before brushing.
